Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the national space agency of Pakistan has successfully launched its first Synthetic Aperture Radar (K-S1) Satellite on 31 Jul 2025 from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC), China. This remarkable milestone marks a giant leap forward in Pakistan's journey toward self-reliance and technological excellence in space exploration.

K-S1 is the second satellite in Pakistan's Remote Sensing Constellation, following the successful launch of Electro-Optical remote sensing satellite (EO-1) in January 2025. K-S1 satellite will transform Pakistan's capabilities to monitor and manage its natural resources, predict and respond to natural disasters, and drive economic growth through informed decision-making and sustainable development. The advanced SAR technology, combined with existing electro-optical satellites, the state of the art image processing capability, and increased revisit time will provide unparalleled actionable insights.
