04 October 2013 Friday	Inauguration Ceremony ( NCRG Auditorium) National Poster Competition Display & Voting	SUPARCO HEADQUARTERS	WSW celebrations will formally commence with an exuberant inauguration ceremony held by Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) at National Center for Remote Sensing & Geo Informatics (NCRG) Karachi. The ceremony will include exhibition of different satellite and rocket models, along with space application posters display.
05-06 October 2013 Saturday & Sunday	Space Fair	PAF Museum	A two day Space Fair would be held at PAF Museum Karachi for the general public, school and university students. The fair would include many fascinating space related activities like Space Movie Theatre, Philately Stall, Sky Observation, University Project Display, Water Rocket Demonstration and Space Studio etc.

07 October 2013 Monday	Quiz Competition	NCRG Auditorium	To appraise the understanding of the space world among the school students, Quiz Competition will be held at SUPARCO HQs. Competition shall be held among 35-40 different public and private schools of Karachi.
08 October 2013 Tuesday	Declamation Competition	NCRG Auditorium	On the theme of WSW 2013, Declamation Contest will be held in both English and Urdu languages at SUPARCO HQs Karachi. Students will be invited from different schools of Karachi.
09 October 2013 Wednesday	Water Rocket Competition	SUPARCO HQs	For students the main highlight of the WSW celebration is Water Rocket Competition as the students gets an opportunity to build and launch their own water rockets. SUPARCO would be inviting students from different schools of Karachi to participate in the event. It will be held at SUPARCO HQs.
07, 08 and 09 October 2013 Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday	Mobile Space Education Bus	FFC School, Mari Gas School, Engro Grammar School Daharki, District Ghotki.	A specially designed mobile education bus equipped with multimedia shall leave for interior Sindh on 7th October. The purpose is to create awareness of space through lectures, multimedia presentations and videos, in towns and villages of Sindh. The bus shall be visiting different Govt. schools of Steel Town, Thatta district and its surroundings till 9th October 2012.
7th 8th and 9th October 2013 Monday Tuesday and Wednesday	Sky Simulation Show	PIA Planetarium	A space journey simulation experience would be given to students from different schools of Pakistan. 400 students plus teachers from different schools would visit.The exciting Sky Simulation Show will be held at PIA Planetarium Karachi.

Objectives	Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), owing to its advantage of cloud / haze penetration, day, night and all weather coverage, carries a great potential to be used in a variety of application areas. SAR uses different wavebands within microwave part of the electromagnetic spectrum, to identify and delineate various earth features/objects. Thus, this training course aims to provide understanding in radar remote sensing, impart knowledge and hands-on experience in SAR specific open source software for processing SAR imagery, acquaint participants with techniques of extracting information from SAR imagery products, familiarize participants with techniques of integrating SAR and optical data and share information about various applications of SAR imagery.

Objectives	Remote Sensing offers wide applications including Lithological discrimination, structural mapping, land form analysis, hydrogeology, environmental geosciences and mineral prospection. The synoptic coverage and multispectral information provided by the remotely sensed data have proved to be advantageous over conventional methods for geological mapping. It helps in visualizing the terrain as a whole for understanding the spatial relationship between different features. The aim of this training course is to impart knowledge and skills in utilization of Remote Sensing data for developing Geological applications. Geological maps composition and sharing of expertise in carrying out mineral prospection, ground water studies, and Geohazard monitoring projects will be covered along with necessary hands-on practical/demonstration.

Objectives	The course aims at providing basic understanding of Regional Climate Model (ReqCM) & Dispersion Modeling such as CHARM software. The course progresses from introducing climate change through numerical modeling, installing and running of model to analyze the results. The course will navigate through remote sensing and GIS software packages for post processing of results obtained.
