SUPARCO is the member of IAF since 1985. The aims and objectives of the IAF are to foster the development of astronautics for peaceful purposes, wide-spread dissemination of
technical information, to stimulate public interest in space flight through mass communication, to encourage astronautical research, to convoke congresses and scientific meetings, and to
cooperate with other organizations. SUPARCO is a voting member of IAF, and Chairman, SUPARCO has also been elected as member of IAF for Liaison between International Organizations and Developing
Nations. |
The Annual Congress of the IAF is an extremely important event, which provides a forum for the assembly of a large number of renowned aerospace scientists and technologists and the
presentation of over several hundred scientific and technical papers dealing with the subject of space science and space technology. The moot provides an opportunity for close interaction between
scientists for developing direct contacts with the renowned space experts and policy makers and cross-fertilization of ideas amongst them, which greatly helps in promoting bilateral and
multilateral cooperation in the fields of space technology. The knowledge and experience gained through participation of SUPARCO's scientists in the IAF Congress is directly relevant to the
planning and execution of SUPARCO's projects. |
